How To Pray

Prayer is a form of communication to God. There are several types of prayer. The prayer of intercession, supplications, requests, thanksgiving, praise, worship, and praying in the spirit. The prayer that is most desired to learn is supplications and requests. Let’s talk about it. First one must understand that according Jeremiah 1:12, God watches His word to perform it. This implies you must pray according to His word, which is also His will. 1John 5:14 says that “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and if He hears us we have the petition granted”. So in brief, find verses that pertain to your situation and make your request known to God because He watches His word to perform it. If it is in His will, you can rest assure that He wants to deliver. The next aspect on your part is faith. Without faith it is impossible please God. After knowing that your request is in His will, believe you receive it and you will have it. That’s faith. Don’t go away hoping or wondering if He’s coming through, know that you have it. Even if the mortgage lender, the auto dealer, the pocket book, the doctor’s diagnosis all says no, don’t be moved. That’s faith. Faith is not dictated by carnal senses. Faith is setting yourself in agreement with God’s word and nothing else. If you believe you received your petition, keep thanking God until it manifest.

Was that the anointing or just man?

Many of our churches today are so steeped in the traditions of old, that they’ve settled and excused hooping, hollering, music assisted preaching for the anointing. Not all but many! I’ve sat through services by invitation to anniversaries or attended funerals and observed several attendants standing up, cheering the minister on when it was only entertainment. It could’ve been inspiration for some but even inspiration is of no use when you need a word for instruction at a crossroad. When a song, a sermon or a speaker or singer is anointed, it ministers to your spirit. It destroys yokes and removes burdens. It preserves you for the long haul. The anointing will bring about conviction when a word is spoken regarding error in your life. The anointing makes your ears and heart attentive to what God is doing. The anointing leaves a lasting impression. When a service is truly anointed by the spirit of God, sometimes the people are under holy ghost arrest and can’t even go to sleep. It’s the anointing that opens spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear. On the other hand when it’s just man, nothing happens. That man is doing all the work and wearing himself/herself out. When it’s man, he has to think. When it’s the anointing, you don’t even have to think. You’re in a zone and the spirit of God is prompting and feeding you. It was sad sitting for three hours, watching all the dynamics take place. The people were spent and nothing happened. They might as well had gone to the gym and worked out. Know the difference! The anointing is the manifested presence of God.

Is this really your year?

Transcript via speechpad.com:

Is this really your year? Well, where I’m coming from is so many times people, you know, 2007 is going to be like heaven. You hear all these things, 2008′s going to be great, 2009′s going to be fine. You know every year from the change over from December 31st at midnight to January 1st, people have you thinking, “Oh, this is my year.” You might go to church for the whole month of January. You keep hearing talk about this is your year.

But let me just tell you something, the scripture says that Jesus, he was anointed to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the broken hearts, set at liberty them that are held captive, and to preach the favorable year of the Lord. The favorable year of the Lord began two thousand years ago. You know, the year of jubilee back in the old testament, was after every fifty years everything you lost, you get back. You know, all your debts are canceled and so forth. But you see when Jesus came, he became the year of the Lord, it was like our jubilee. We’ve been living our jubilee now for over two thousand years.

This is your year, it’s what you make out of it. You’ve got to take the word of faith and apply it to your live, take the word and apply it to your life and watch how every year works. There are no bad years when you’re a child of the king. Every year is a good year. There’s no bad day if you just claim it’s a good day. It’s a wonderful life. He came to give us life and to have it more abundantly. It doesn’t matter what year it is, you make it your year. And sometimes they say, well this is your year, God’s getting ready to bless you, getting ready to do this for you and hook you up and take care of you, come on.

But what about the fornicators in there? What about the scripture that says, you know, he will not withhold any good thing from them that walk upright before him, you know, maybe you have to walk upright. Sometimes there’s contingencies you have to apply. Scriptures say if you be willing and obedient you will eat the good of the lamb. You have to be willing and obedient.

It’s not just your year because it’s 2011, going to be great, 2000 whatever, 19, going to be fine. I don’t know, you come up with your own rhyme for that. But it doesn’t matter what year it is. We’re in the year of the Lord, we’ve been in it for 2000 years. You make it happen.

So, don’t let somebody bamboozle you with all these great sounding things as soon as we cross into the next year, telling you how great your life’s getting ready to be, and then go back and look, has it been all that great when they just tell you it’s gonna be so great because of the year? Because we changed over into another year? And numbers have significance, I’m not knocking that, there’s a number, there’s a significance for every number. It has a great meaning. However, you still must apply the word of God to your life, that’s the balance I’m trying to get across to you now. You’ve got to have some balance.

So, don’t just think just because 2008′s going to be great, 9′s going to be fine, 2010 we have to win, we’ve been winning ever since we put our faith in the sacrificial blood atonement of Jesus. We’ve been on top and rising, we’re the head, not the tail. Above only, not beneath. We’re the victor and not the victim. We’re more than conquerors, we’re champions, we’re kings and priests. This is your year right now, and forever more.

Who Said You Can’t Legislate Faith?

Who said you can’t legislate faith? Then what does a nation’s founders base their constitutions on? Every principle we live by is in accordance to what we believe. Go to a predominately Muslim nation and try to oppose their faith and see what will happen. Our great nation, the United States of America, was founded on Christian principles. A plethora of references were made toward the canon of scripture (the holy bible) as our constitution was being formed. The problem with our nation today is that we’ve veered away from kingdom influence and have allowed the dictates of the flesh and secular humanism to dominate the thoughts of our public. We took the reading of the bible out of the schools. That’s one reason our children don’t have the same respect or convictions that were prevalent in the 50’s and beyond. Remember when there was such an uproar when Rhett Butler, played by Clark Gable said, “ frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”? That was because the moral fabric was under attack by using what was termed profane and inappropriate for display on the big screen. Turn on the television today, even during prime, family time, you’ll see and hear everything ungodly under the sun. We took God out of the picture. We need to live by the faith wherewith this country was legislated. Christianity. When our leaders begin approving of same sex marriage we’re in trouble. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Even some ministers of the gospel have been so desensitized that they are ok with it as well. Our schools hardly ever say the pledge of allegiance anymore before class. No wonder there’s no loyalty or respect for our country by many youth today. Why would there be litigation regarding prayer at commencement exercises in our high schools and universities? Shouldn’t the students and faculty want a prayerful covering as they venture into new domains of life? Since we took God out of our government in general in the early 60’s, we’ve seen the high school dropout rate increase. We’ve seen teenage pregnancy increase. Abortion is skyrocketing yearly to nearly or over 3 million babies annually. Crime and murder is the norm on our evening news channels. This is what happens when a country denies and neglects the faith it was founded by. The reason for any of the positive numbers today in the aforementioned ills are due to some true believers, some great nonprofit organizations and a few real ministers and parents who either homeschooled or are diligent in the rearing of their children. It sure isn’t because of anything our government officials are mandating for change. Who said you can’t legislate faith? Non-belief is a faith. Evolution is a faith. The various religious beliefs are faiths. Homosexuality, fornication, adultery, profanity, robbery, senseless murder, gangster rap lyrics, death metal, pornography, incest, disobedience to parents, even stupidity is a faith. It’s all done contingent on what they believe. America needs to get back to its core faith, Christianity. Who said you can’t legislate faith? What the heck do we live by then? Help us Jesus!

Already Forgiven

After you’ve been born again your sins are forgiven, past, present and future. 1John 1:9 says, “that if we confess our sins He’s faithful and just to cleanse us of all unrighteousness”. This confession is for your salvation. That’s why verse 10 says if we say we have not sinned we lie and make God out to be a liar.  The law was given to prove that we were sinners and needed a savior. It was a tutor to bring us to Christ. All have sinned and will continue missing the bull’s eye in this life. Often believers think they have to confess in order to have their sins forgiven, but God has already forgiven you by way of the blood of Jesus. Question! What if he doesn’t forgive you of a sin you confessed? You’ll go to hell. What if you forget to confess one or didn’t know that anything apart from faith is sin? You’ll go to hell. If we read 1John 2:1 it says, I write that you don’t sin, but if we do sin, we have an advocate, Jesus the Christ. He already paid for it in full. Thank God for Jesus. He didn’t come into the world to condemn us but that through Him we might be saved. If our future sins are not forgiven, Jesus will have to come back and hang on that cross all over again. Thank God we are forgiven forever and our sins removed as far as the east is from the west and He would remember our lawless deeds no more. Don’t be in bondage or under any condemnation. Forgive yourself first of all the issues the devil wants to try to remind you of. Then know that God has already forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 says, “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.’ It’s good and ok to apologize or acknowledge your mishaps to God. But never think that your confession is what gets your sins forgiven. He already forgave you through Christ. What a wonderful life. How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? I thank God, I’m Already Forgiven.

What does the bible say about suicide?

Transcript via speechpad.com:

What does the Bible say about suicide? A lot of people ask questions often and say, “Pastor, what will happen if I commit suicide?” and sometimes they’re contemplating and sometimes they’re just asking a semi-rhetorical question. But anyway, what does the Bible say? What about this suicide? You know, if you gave your life to God, let’s think about it, if you gave your life to Christ, it’s no longer your life. It’s no longer yours. He is the one in charge of your life and He tells you when it’s time to go. You don’t take it yourself. That’s not right. It’s not right for you to take your own life.

Let’s get a little more technical, a little more extreme with it. You know what? If you’re a pigging out on barbecue ribs and fried pork chops and fried chicken with the skin on it, you can smoke cigarettes all day long, the side of the pack says this can lead to death as well, or you’re doing all types of drugs and you’re decimating the temple constantly, that’s a slow suicide as well.

Scripture says in Galatians, if you sow to the flesh, you will reap corruption. That’s a form of suicide also.

You got to be careful whether you’re talking about just blowing your head off or just injecting yourself with some kind of poison or overdosing on drugs because you couldn’t take the pressures of life anymore. Now, if you’re already saved and the devil is bombarding your thinking, telling you to kill yourself, just do away with it so you won’t have any more problems to deal with, you won’t even want to take that chance like, “What’s going to happen when I get before God?” God is loving. He is merciful. He is forgiving. He can forgive our ignorance if we chose to do something like that, but still again, it’s not your call. It’s not your life. Your life is in Him. He will in no ways cast you out. No one can pluck you out of His hand.

When you gave your life to Christ, you gave it to Him. It’s no longer yours so you can’t take take your life. That’s what’s the Bible reference would be about suicide. You can’t take your own life because it’s not yours to take. It’s His. You gave it to Him so you have no rights there. You have no rights there and if anybody is contemplating suicide, come on, you need to tough up. You need to man up right now and trust God to carry you through because nothing is just that deep where God can’t handle it. We’re not into suicide, all right? Let’s close it right there.

Is Homosexuality a sin?

Transcript via speechpad.com:

Is homosexuality is a sin? Yes, it is. We were all born sinners, all were
born, we were all born shaped in iniquity. After Adam and Eve fell, he took
on a sin nature, that’s the bottom line. He took on the sin nature. Romans
chapter 5 tells us that through one man’s sin enter the world and death by
sin, death passed upon all men because all have sin. That proves we were
all born sinners.

Homosexuality is just a sin that people chose to do, so you can’t come up
with this and tell me I was born this way. I’m just a woman in a man’s body
or vice versa. You were born a sinner, that’s all it is and people need to
be fessing up and just telling the truth. Sin is sin, that’s what it is. I
don’t care if your president says it’s OK or your pope said or whatever,
your preacher says it’s OK. Whoever it is, the word of God says it’s a sin.

God created the man and the woman here, male and a female, he created them
to subdue, to dominate, to multiply and replenish the earth and that’s how
you do it. You can’t do it with two men together and two women together,
and the only kind of same sex is heterosexual marriage. That’s the only
type of marriage we should be propagating and promoting anyway.
Homosexuality is just a perverted, debased thinking. It’s just a wicked,
perverted mind saying that it’s OK for me to have this imagination of me
being with another man or a woman being with another woman. It’s just a
sin, and you need to repent.

You talk about do homosexuals and gays have rights? You have a right to
repent. A right to repent because that’s a sin. I’m telling you now, trust
me. When you stand before God, you’re going to be seeing my face telling
you it’s a sin and that’s what it is. You need to repent and to ask God to
forgive you, and you need to just cast down those imaginations and all
those thoughts of being with them. It don’t matter if you get all mushy and
warm and fuzzy with another man or another woman. That don’t mean you go
all the way with them. That don’t mean you go and have sex with them and
then want to marry them. What some kind of debased thinking we have today.
That’s a reprobate mind. That’s a sin. That’s what it is.

It’s like you chose to do crack, you chose to do alcohol, you chose to
cuss, you chose to gossip, you chose to be a whatever it is, you choose all
these things here. You’re not born a certain way. You’re not born a crack
head. You’re not born a gossip. You’re born a sinner. That’s what it is.
You’re born a sinner and homosexuality is one of those sins you chose and
you need to repent of that sin as well. You need to ask God to deliver you,
wash and cleanse you, that’s what you do and then serve God. No way you can
know the true and living God. He loves you, he don’t love the sin though.
He loves us all, but he does not love our sin, all right?

There’s no way you can know the true and living God, worship him, honor
him, adore him, and know him personally and intimately and think it’s OK,
because the holy spirit of God will convict you of that sin. It is not
right. So, I’m just here to tell you, and maybe we’ll come back and do part
two on this one.

Can You Marry After Divorce?

Transcript via speechpad.com

Can you marry after divorce? Sure, you can. You just need to check your
motives, though. If you marry somebody because you’ve been cheating and
playing around on the side and committing adultery, the Bible says, “No,
that’s not right” because you just marry somebody for that sake – wrong
purpose.

All right, but God wants you happy. The first marriage didn’t work out, he
was cursing you out and beating on you and blowing all the money on drugs
and alcohol and lying to you. You couldn’t trust him to be faithful, and
then you got a divorce. Be happy, find you the right person. Or you had a
wife and she was doing the same things to you. God wants you happy, so yeah
God would want you to have that mate. So, yes, it’s OK to marry after
divorce. The only question would be, “What’s the motive?”

I know some scriptures make references that because if you’re married and
then you got a divorce, you’re not supposed to remarry, and sometimes
preachers hold people accountable to that, as if you can’t even marry all
over again. God forgives us of all of our sin. He forgives of all of our
defects and flaws. He forgives us of ignorances and everything else, and he
loves us and cares for us, so God wants you happy. He wants you to be able
to find the right mate. He wants you happy and so, yes, it’s OK to marry
after divorce. You need to let the past be in the past. Just don’t marry
for the sake of adultery, that’s the wrong motive.

Faith To Walk In Perfect Health

So many Christians come to God out of desperation for healing. They wait until they’ve exhausted all doctors, remedies and resources. The suffering, pain and discomfort is now unbearable so, not in faith but out of desperation they hope God can deliver them. He can! No problem. Sometimes through laying on of hands, or working of miracles or gifts of healing by the spirit of God, one can receive a manifestation of healing. But that way often is analogous to driving a car for years and having never maintenanced it. It would be understandable as to why the axle broke, it sputtered constantly, it overheated, it wouldn’t go into reverse and the head gasket blew. It’s a great thing to be healed, but even better to walk in divine health. You have to know and declare daily that your body is the tabernacle of the living God. Any germs, sickness, virus or disease that touches your body must instantly die because you are covered by the blood of Jesus. You can’t say this one time only. This has to be a daily confession and standard procedure from your mind and heart. You must declare that you have been redeemed from the curse of sickness and by Jesus’ stripes you are healed. Agree with Matthew 8:17 in that, “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” and God sent His word and healed us. You must bind up sickness as soon as you see any resemblance of an attack on your body, in Jesus’ name. Tell the devil, he lost because of the blood of Jesus. Daily give God praise for He is Jehovah Rapha, the God that healeth thee. Never say, “I’m sick or I’m catching something or I got cancer, MS, the flu, asthma, leukemia or anything else”. Those are only the doctors’ diagnosis, not God’s. God said you’re healed. This is how you apply faith to walk in perfect health.

HOW FAITH WORKS: Salvation and The Power Of The Blood Of Jesus

Christianity is the only “religion” that sends a guarantee, a proof of purchase for salvation. The Holy Spirit is our assurance. There is absolutely no other way of salvation outside of the blood of Jesus. By way of the blood of Jesus, a believer with the revelation of its power will never suffer defeat in this life. All of the promises for Christian triumphs and victories laid out in scripture come as a result of the blood of Jesus. If anyone gets this understanding of the power of the blood of Jesus, they will see why they will live forever and how nothing can overtake them. Christ in you is the only hope of glory.

Adam was created in the image of God with eternal life abiding in him. After the fall, by partaking of the forbidden fruit, he lost his image and died a spiritual death. Spiritual death is separation from God. Adam was no longer one with God. Adam and Eve bore children and in Genesis chapter five we read that Seth was created in the image of Adam, not God. The image of Adam is with a fallen nature (dead to God). Leviticus 17:11 states that the life of all flesh is in the blood. This is proven by our DNA tests today. We also determine who the parents are, or who was at the murder scene in criminal investigations, by the blood samples. In Psalm 51 David wrote, “I was shaped in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me’. In other words, he was born a sinner with the sinful nature.

Isaiah prophesied in chapter 7 that, “a virgin will conceive and bring forth a child and He shall be called Immanuel which implies “God with us.” Artificial insemination was taking place over 2,000 years ago when God, as it says in the gospel of Luke, overshadowed the virgin. God with His own sperm, supernaturally impregnated the virgin Mary. The male sperm is what produces the blood. The difference between Jesus and any other person who ever lived on planet earth is that Jesus has the life of God in Him, whereas all the rest of us had the life of Adam. Romans 5: 12, 14 says, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned….nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam.” Notice, death is still inevitable even if one practices the best of morals because it’s not his act of sin that will deny him eternal life, it is the life of Adam within an individual. The life of Adam is dead to God.

Jesus spoke to Nicodemus saying, “you must be born again.” Born again means you must have the life of Adam replaced with the life of Christ. The life of Christ is alive to and one with God. Jesus is God incarnate, yet because God used His own life in the fertilization of Mary’s egg, this makes Jesus the Son of God. When John the Baptist was baptizing at the river Jordan, the heavens opened up and a voice spoke from heaven saying, “This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” God never said that about Hari Krishna, Buddha, Muhammad, the Unitarians, Scientology, Sun Yong Moon or anybody who claims to be a way or the way of salvation. Jesus is the Lamb of God which means the sacrifice who is able and the only person qualified to take away the sin of the world. Every and any other sacrifice is tainted by the fall of Adam and is not perfect. God knew from the foundation of the world that he would have to come in human form and be a propitiation for the sin of mankind in order to redeem and reconcile us back to Him. He so loved the world……..

Some 2,000 years ago Jesus hung on a cross at Calvary. All of the sins of humanity were placed upon Him. He died and suffered the penalty for all of our sins. He was bruised for our iniquities and wounded for our transgressions. He went to hell for us, but He had prophesied saying, “tear this temple down and in three days I will raise it back up.” He was the perfect sacrifice because He passed the tests of temptations to sin and the life of God was flowing through His veins. The sin of murder, homosexuality, bestiality, child abuse, lying, gossiping, stealing etc. were all upon Him as He hung on that cross. The sicknesses of AIDS, sickle cell anemia, cancer, multiple sclerosis, asthma etc. were all upon Him. The consequences of poverty were all upon Him. But God can’t die, it was the life of God that was in Jesus’ blood that sustained Him through the torment. After withstanding this for three days, preaching to the spirits in prison, He rose again with all power in His hands having overcome sickness, death, hell and the grave. Revelation 12:11 says, “and we overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.”

When we place our faith in the sacrificial blood atonement of Jesus Christ, we live forever also. No weapon formed against us shall prosper because of the power of the blood of Jesus. Sickness has to go from our body because of the blood. When we receive Christ as our savior, His life comes in to replace the old life of Adam, resulting in everlasting life.

Confession:

I am covered by the blood of Jesus. I loose the blood of Jesus to be a hedge of protection around the perimeter of my boundaries, my shelter, transportation, finances and my person. Because of the blood of Jesus I am forgiven of all my trespasses and healed of any sickness, germs, virus or diseases. Because of the blood of Jesus, I have been redeemed from the curse of the law and any family curses laced against my bloodline. I have total victory and I triumph over all things because of the blood of Jesus. Now Satan, the blood of Jesus is against you. It is written, I have overcome you by the blood of Jesus and I serve you notice that you have lost the battle in my life. God, I thank You now for this wonderfully, incredible rescue mission that you have performed by the giving of Your only begotten Son– that I would not perish but have everlasting life. I confess Jesus as Lord over my life. I believe in my heart that He is risen from the dead and according to Your word, I am saved. Thank You Jesus.
